Ene Underwood is a highly versatile public and not-for-profit sector leader whose experience spans roles as board member, chief executive, executive team member, strategy consultant, and senior advisor to government. Ene’s career began in the private sector with one of the world’s preeminent strategy consulting firms, followed by close to two decades in publicly funded healthcare organizations, and four years leading change in Ontario’s child welfare sector. Her leadership roles have leveraged her private sector background and afforded challenges in social enterprise within the not-for-profit world. Along the way, she has developed extensive experience in not-for-profit governance in the healthcare, children’s services, and community service sectors.
Ene is the CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area, a non-profit housing organization that mobilizes volunteers to help working, lower income families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable home ownership.
